From May 22 to 27, a team of specialists visited critical points in the district and in the rural community of Mala in order to reduce and eradicate mosquitoes, dengue incubation areas and infectious vectors.

Different public spaces were fumigated, such as squares, sports fields, parks, churches, children’s playgrounds, educational institutions in the area, the San Pedro de Mala municipal stadium, the sports village, the police station, the municipal cemetery, the senior citizens’ center, the irrigation canal, among others.

“We are committed to the health of the population. We join the State’s efforts to contribute to the fight against this disease. The articulation of the private company with state institutions is very important in this type of situation, said Cecilia Rabitsch, Vice President of Environmental, Social and Sustainability Affairs at Southern Peaks Mining.

What is DENGUE?

It is a disease transmitted by the bite of the mosquito Aedes Aegypti, which reproduces in containers or objects in disuse with accumulated water, becoming incubation areas for mosquitoes. Identify these areas in your home, wash the containers constantly or dispose of them to avoid dengue fever.

Remember not to self-medicate, most of the deceased patients self-medicated. Go to the nearest health facility. Dengue care is free of charge.
