The Peruvian mining group Southern Peaks Mining (SPM) participated for the first time in the 35th edition of the Perumin Mining Convention held in the city of Arequipa, from September 26 to 30.
The SPM team had stand No. 140, located in Hall 1, where through visual resources it provided information to the participants about its commitment to sustainable mining, constant innovation and the development of the country.
“We are proud to participate with a stand at Perumin. We believe it is essential to exchange knowledge and best practices with other mining companies. The mining sector in Peru needs to continue growing, and this type of event allows us to do so in a coordinated way, in order to work for the development of all Peruvians,” said Adolfo Vera, CEO of SPM.
Southern Peaks Mining’s participation in this event stood out for being the first medium mining company in the world to obtain The Copper Mark certification, which guarantees that it works with good practices in copper production and contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. At the company’s stand there was information about this certification received by Compañía Minera Condestable’s operation located in Mala.
The mining company was founded in 2010. It currently operates Compañía Minera Condestable in Mala, Lima and is developing the Ariana mining project in Marcapomacocha, Junín. Compañía Minera Condestable mines copper and is authorized to process 8,400 tons per day. Ariana Operaciones Mineras is a Copper and Zinc deposit that is under construction and plans to process 2000 tons of ore per day.
